I cannot disagree at the point that there is not a better time then autumn for people who love their gardens to get prepared for upcoming winters. The months of September and October are just ideal enough for you to get out and work in your garden since it is still warm enough to get your plants ready so they can easily fight against the upcoming frost and cold weather. This is the time when you should make sure that the ground work is done perfectly so your garden would already be prepared to give out its most in the upcoming spring. You need to get the bedding tidy and everything else organized in autumn season.

Taking care of the weeds would be your first task in the season of autumn and mostly this turns out to be a bit tough since mostly people do not really take care of them during summer. If you regularly work on the weeks throughout the autumn season, it would make sure that they get weaker and vanish permanently. Not only this, you will be getting the soil prepared and ready to boost the plants in the season of spring. If you do not remove the weeds now, they will spread some more and their seeds would be everywhere in your garden that would make life difficult for your garden plants.
Autumn is the time when you can plan ahead for your garden, in fact this is the ideal time for planting both winter and spring bulbs. This would make sure that your garden would keep on showing its colors throughout the year and would easily make it through winters as well. Also, people who plan to extend their gardens; autumn is the right time to get this done too. Conditions in autumn season are really favourable and weather is relatively warm as well. In the season of autumn, new plants would settle easily and make their base stronger before the winter hits and slows them down. So keeping this in mind, any perennials, shrubs, or new trees should be bought in autumn season.
Although autumn might carry so many advantages for your garden but it also brings in stormy winds and bad weather at times as well. If you have any tall trees or climbers, make sure you tie them good so they do not break. These few autumn gardening tips would be enough to ensure that you make the most out of this season for your garden.
